September
2006 heralded the
introduction of the Georgia
Assessments for the Certification of Educators
(GACEtm).
Developed
for the purpose of assessing the knowledge and skills
of prospective Georgia public school educators, the
GACE program helps the PSC meet its goal of ensuring
that candidates have the knowledge and skills needed
to perform the job of an educator in Georgia public
schools.
The
new test was administered on November 18, 2006. Candidates
attempting to gain
certification who did not exempt testing or achieve a
passing composite score on the Praxis I test, which in
the state of Georgia
was used prior to the GACE are required to pass the
GACE basic.
Our
workshops are designed to prepare participants to
effectively test on a content-based level and are tailored
to prepare participants specifically for
the
GACEBasic.
This one day workshop allows
you to learn and practice the subject material in a
classroom setting.
Professional
Association of Georgia Educators sponsored workshops
can
be attended by PAGE and SPAGE members at reduced rates throughout the school

Academic Resource Services
hosted workshops are open to the general public each
month during the calendar year. Space is limited in order to
allow participates to have greater contact with

The Praxis I: Pre-Professional
Skills Assessments (PPST®)
is currently used for admission into teacher education
programs in hundreds of colleges and universities, and
used to measure basic skills in reading, writing, and
mathematics for licensing in more than 30
states.
Our workshops give participants the opportunity to
work with instructors who have been involved in Praxis
Test Success for over ten years.

Praxis testers note that the many
preparation books for sale in bookstores are not in
line with the Praxis I test. After spending
hundreds of dollars to test this claim we agree.
So, we developed one that like our workshop is
content-based, covering the topics needed to be
successful on the Praxis I test. Written in an
easy to understand manner with assessment, instruction
and testing for years our workbooks have helped
to guide students to an understanding of exam
content.
