Using discussions, quizzes, tests, and practice problems, taught in a common sense manner the reading workshop will show you how to increase your reading speed and comprehension. Comprehension skills and sample passages will be presented.
A recent poll of Americans found that 80% lacked confidence in their use of the English language. Those in this majority, will find the writing workshop indispensable. Participants will learn to make their written communication more precise and dynamic. Instructors emphasize pre-writing which is the most important stage of the writing process. Participants will be given skills and strategies to generate ideas quickly and engage in hands-on activities that enable them to write well organized paragraphs. At the conclusion of the writing workshop, participants will be able to organize thoughts, and provide clearly stated responses to all aspects of the writing section.
